Baker’s goal was clear: “never compromise.” He wanted a utilitarian shoe with elevated touches and a fashion-forward feel, but above all, one that truly performed while skating. The starting point was the Nike SB Bruin High, his favorite SB model, and the result is a genderless silhouette with couture details applied to a skate shoe. Cacao Wow dresses it in warm brown tones.
The upper is built on a light brown smooth leather base, with suede layers covering the areas of greatest wear. The reinforcements and toe box create three overlapping layers, so it takes much longer to split open. Color accents, ribbon heel pulls, a tone-on-tone “Leo” monogram, and custom artwork on the insole complete the design. In Cacao, all that layering comes through in different shades of the same brown.
