Ten years later, Tetsuya Shono, then product manager at New Balance Japan, decided to bring it back as the 2002R. This time, it worked. The Medusa Green is one of its most organic interpretations.
The construction is that of a high-end tech runner: quality suede panels layered over a mesh base, with the “N” taking up the side and a visible structure wrapping around the midfoot. On the Medusa Green, deep green dominates the design, while the gray and silver overlays provide technical contrast.
