In 1999, designer Peter Schmid was commissioned to improve traction in the trail running category and ended up creating the Mostro, an unprecedented silhouette that exceeded all the brand’s expectations. A cross between an ’80s surf shoe and a ’60s sprinting shoe, its name means “monster” in Italian. This edition is a collaboration with JJJJound, a Montreal design studio known for its ultra-minimalist approach, in Deep Navy.
The snug upper follows the natural shape of the foot, above a pointed rubber sole and a Velcro fastening that became defining features of the silhouette. In Deep Navy, JJJJound reduces the model to its essence with a deep, uniform navy blue.
