Designed in 1995 by Sergio Lozano, the Air Max 95 broke with almost all the conventions established in Nike's running category up to that point. Lozano drew inspiration from the human body: the side panels evoke muscle fibers, the lacing system recalls a rib structure, and the sole traces the spine, all set against a predominantly grey upper inspired by the striations of the Grand Canyon and human anatomy. This "Big Bubble" version brings back the original volume of the visible air unit in the heel, just as it appeared in the first 1995 pairs.
The model retains its iconic layered construction and its gradient structure from grey to black. In this Comet Red colorway, the grey gradient is combined with vivid red details on the overlays and Air unit, while the heel Air unit returns to the "Big Bubble" size found on the model's earliest versions.
