The Numeric team adapted the original 480 to the demands of skateboarding by adding a reinforced suede construction, a thicker sole, and extra padding in the tongue. In the Mallard Duck colorway, the brown suede and leather base is combined with yellow leather on the toe box — evoking the duck's bill — green suede on the heel counter — inspired by the iridescent reflection of its head — and orange details on the lining and sole.
