The 1906L was born in 2024 when Junya Watanabe presented a leather version of the iconic 1906 during Paris Fashion Week; New Balance launched its own interpretation shortly afterward, grafting a loafer upper onto the 1906 chassis. The original 2009 model took its name from the year the brand was founded, 1906. This Black Multi-Color colorway combines metallic and black panels with vibrant pops of color on that foundation.
The 1906L retains the perforated mesh, curved synthetic overlays, and 860v2 sole with segmented ABZORB pods in the heel. In Black Multi-Color, the silver metallic panel on the toe and sides pairs with matte gray leather, red accents, a stitched green outline on the tongue, and a bright blue sole.
