The Gel-DS Trainer 14 was originally launched in 2009 as a lightweight, stable running shoe designed for neutral foot strikes. Kiko Kostadinov, a Bulgarian designer based in London and a regular ASICS collaborator since 2017, brings it back as part of his UB silhouette series, adding details from his studio such as tongue pull tabs that make it easier to put on without compromising the model’s original technical foundation. This Graphite Grey version takes a more understated approach within the collaboration.

Gel-DS Trainer 14 — 2009 technical running heritage

The silhouette retains the lightweight running construction of the original DS Trainer, with a close-fitting mesh upper and lateral reinforcements for support while running. In this colorway, the mesh is dyed in a grey so dark it borders on black, combined with off-white side panels and silver accents around the logos, heel, and toe.
