In 2003, Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto partnered with Adidas to launch Y-3, his premium sportswear line. Three years later, in 2006, the two brands joined forces to create the "Beast Pack", a set of four football boots inspired by creatures from Japanese mythology —Dragon, Eagle, Tiger, and Wolf— featuring artwork by illustrator Taishi Hayashi and released to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Germany. Almost twenty years later, Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto are bringing back the pack for the 2026 World Cup, and this Tiger version revives the original design with an updated treatment.
The original F50 Tunit featured the modular Tunit system, which allowed three types of studs (SG, FG, and HG) to be combined in a single boot. In this Tiger edition, the upper is covered with an intricate tiger-inspired illustration in yellow and black tones that evoke the animal’s fur, combining the graphic design’s aggressive character with the performance technology that defined the original model at the time.
