Adi Dassler designed the Samba in 1949, the same year he founded adidas after splitting from his brother Rudolf, who created Puma. It was born as a football boot for frozen pitches: kangaroo leather and a gum rubber sole that provided grip where studs were of no use. In 1950, it arrived at the World Cup in Brazil, which is where its name came from, taken from the Brazilian dance. Over the years, it became the quintessential futsal shoe and later a streetwear classic. This version adds light pink to the traditional white base.
