To design the Samba JP, adidas looked not at current versions but at the oldest Sambas in its archives. The result takes details from those models and executes them with premium materials. Although the name may suggest it, JP does not mean Japan: it is a reinterpretation of the 1949 original, the boot Adi Dassler created with a gum sole for playing on frozen fields.
The JP removes the suede toe panel found on the Samba OG and replaces it with reinforced stitching inspired by the Copa Mundial models of the seventies. It also brings back the long tongue from the indoor football version, which showcases the classic trefoil. Against the Cloud White, the black Three Stripes and gum sole complete the look.
