The 327 isn't a reissue: it's a reinterpretation. It debuted in April 2020 alongside Casablanca, Charaf Tajer's French-Moroccan label, and brings together elements from three classics of the New Balance archive of the 70s: the 320 from 1976 —the first model with numbering and with the iconic letter N—, the 355 and the Super Comp from 1978. The Moonbeam/Driftwood colorway carries that heritage into a cream and wood palette that softens the whole silhouette.
The toe box is a stretched version of the 320's profile, designed back then to suggest speed. The N is applied oversized and asymmetric on the sidewall, and the toothed sole that wraps the heel comes straight from the 1978 Super Comp. In Moonbeam/Driftwood the cream body lets the wood-toned suede on the panels carry the contrast without shouting.
