Geoff Rowley was born in Liverpool in 1976 and switched from football to skateboarding at the age of thirteen. In 1994, he moved to the United States with the owners of Deathbox—later Flip Skateboards—and became one of the most influential skaters of his generation. The Rowley XLT launched in 2001 as his second signature shoe and marked Vans' return to the cupsole market. This LX version from the Off Road Pack gives it a more rugged finish in Elm.
Unlike the vulcanized sole of classic Vans, the XLT features a stitched cupsole that provides protection and durability on impact. The upper is rugged, with reinforcements in high-wear areas and a generously padded collar. The earthy, muted Elm tone fits the Off Road Pack's outdoor aesthetic.
