The X-ALP was born within Salomon’s mountaineering and approach footwear universe, designed for ski touring and the most demanding mountain outings. In 2025, Carhartt WIP and Salomon reunited for the first time since 2022 to reinterpret this technical silhouette through a robust workwear lens. The result is this X-ALP Carhartt WIP Black collaboration, launched on December 18, 2025.
Inspired by technical approach footwear, the X-ALP combines protective details and mountaineering codes with a premium construction. In this collaboration, the nearly monochromatic black upper blends grainy leather, suede overlays, and a protective rubber mudguard, while subtle duck camouflage patches in earthy tones appear on the collar and tongue, a Carhartt WIP signature.
