Nike launched the Gato in 2010 specifically for futsal, with a suede and leather upper and an XDR rubber sole designed to last and provide grip on indoor courts. A year later, the Nike5 Gato Street arrived, and the same thing happened as with the adidas Samba: skaters adopted it for its flat sole and generous cushioning, to the point that Nike eventually launched a version within its SB line. It is now back in production.
The silhouette remains unchanged: low-cut profile, completely flat shape, thin tongue, and a construction without overlapping layers. What changes in the LV8 version is the material treatment, with a metallic finish that takes the Gato beyond its usual sporty character.
