The Dunk was born in 1985 under the direction of Peter Moore, who combined elements of the Air Force 1, the Air Jordan 1, and the Terminator for the “Be True To Your School” campaign: a college basketball sneaker released in the colors of the major NCAA programs. Four decades later, it remains the most versatile blank canvas in the Nike catalog. This version adds a GORE-TEX membrane and revives an idea that Nike had not explored in the Dunk since 2008: making it suitable for bad weather.
The profile remains the same as ever: low cut, overlapping panels, a wide lateral Swoosh, and a padded collar. What changes is the construction, with more robust layers and water sealing. The Crimson palette combines warm reds with neutral stone-gray bases, creating a striking yet understated contrast.
