Launched in 1990 as the successor to the Air Max 1 and designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max 90 was originally called Air Max III until it reclaimed its name after the year of its launch in 2000. Hatfield drew inspiration from the 1987 Air Max and the 1989 Air Max Light to create a silhouette with a larger Air unit, seven panels made from different synthetic materials, and greater flexibility. This Silver Sage colorway combines silver-gray tones with sage green accents for a refined and versatile result.
The Air Max 90 silhouette combines seven panels made from synthetic materials and leather over a breathable mesh base, with the lateral Swoosh and a visible Air unit in the heel as signature features. In Silver Sage, silver tones dominate the upper while sage green appears in select details, adding a subtle touch of color to the classic silhouette.
