The Air Max 90 arrived in 1990 as the second major sneaker in the Air Max series, created by legendary designer Tinker Hatfield, then Nike’s vice president of design. Originally known as the Air Max III until its reissue in 2000, Hatfield drew on elements from the 1987 Air Max 1 and the 1989 Air Max Light to create a sharper, more aggressive profile inspired by the design of Italian sports cars. This Black Realtree Edge Camo colorway takes the silhouette into hunting and outdoor territory with a subtle yet recognizable camouflage pattern.
The silhouette is recognized by its enlarged visible Air unit in the heel, wide eyelets, rubber toe overlay, and microfiber and mesh upper paired with a padded nylon tongue.
