The 808 is Tiago Lemos's second signature shoe with New Balance Numeric, featuring a late-'90s aesthetic combined with the brand's modern technology. To celebrate "808 Day" (August 8), New Balance Numeric joined forces with Roland to pay tribute to the legendary TR-808 drum machine, first launching the original model in 2024 and, one year later, this Lite version on August 8, 2025, which is lighter and more flexible than the original.
The 808 Lite reduces weight and improves flexibility and fit compared with the original model, without sacrificing comfort for long skate sessions. The layered upper features an exaggerated N as a signature brand detail, while the design incorporates direct nods to the TR-808: a yellow TPU eyelet with a drum machine charm, "Rhythm Composer" branding on the lateral heel, and details on the tongue and insole. For this collaboration, the palette combines dark tones with accents reminiscent of Roland equipment.
