The MT10 was born in 2011 as a minimalist trail running shoe, designed to offer a feeling as close as possible to running barefoot. More than a decade later, New Balance's Tokyo Design Studio, the brand's experimental lab responsible for projects such as the wavy-soled 574, brings back this low-profile model and reinterprets it outside its original technical running context.
Unlike other Tokyo Design Studio projects, which tend to rely on add-ons and highly considered details, the approach to the MT10T goes in the opposite direction: even more stripped-back than the original model. In the Navy colorway, pigskin nubuck suede is combined with Black Cement details, maintaining the low profile and lightweight feel that have defined the silhouette since its launch.
