The 471 is not a reissue: it is a new design directly inspired by the 320, the shoe New Balance launched in 1976 and the brand’s first to feature the N on the side. From that model, it inherits its most distinctive features: the «fang» toe shape and the narrow silhouette of the seventies runners that built the brand’s reputation. It is a well-executed exercise in nostalgia, closer to a track shoe than a modern running shoe. The Bisque Flat Taupe is its most neutral interpretation.
The profile is low, narrow, and clean, with a deliberately slim EVA and rubber sole true to its seventies roots. The exposed foam tongue is another direct nod to the era.
