The 327 arrived in April 2020 through Manchester-based creative Charlotte Lee, debuting alongside Casablanca. It is not a literal retro design: it is a deliberate hybrid that takes the sharp silhouette of the 1976 New Balance 320 — the brand’s first model with numerical naming and the huge N on the side — the sturdy sole of the 355, and the oversized N of the SuperComp. The Angora colorway with Silver Metallic is its softer, brighter interpretation.
The 327’s elongated toe is a stretched version of the 320’s forefoot, a design device originally intended to suggest speed even when standing still. The side N spans the entire profile and extends to the sole, which protrudes beyond the upper at the heel and toe. On this pair, Angora beige dominates the suede and textile, while the N and overlays in metallic silver provide all the shine.
