HOKA was founded in 2009 in Annecy, France, by Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Diard, two trail runners who came from Salomon. The name comes from Māori and means “flying over the earth.” The Tor family brings that philosophy to mountain terrain, where the volume underfoot becomes real protection.
