The Gel-NYC arrived in late 2022 in collaboration with Awake NY, during the resurgence of interest in technical 2000s running shoes. Its design combines the foundation of the Gel-Nimbus 3 with details from the Gel-MC Plus V on the Gel-Cumulus 16 sole unit, resulting in a hybrid silhouette designed specifically for the streets. This Utility Obsidian Grey Carbon version brings the model to a dark, functional palette, with finishes reminiscent of technical equipment.
ASICS introduced its GEL technology in 1986 with the GT-II, and the Gel-NYC carries on that legacy in a modern, layered construction.
