Shigeyuki Mitsui designed the Gel-Lyte III. He joined ASICS in 1984 and developed this model entirely on his own, from start to finish. It debuted in 1990 with what would become its signature feature: the split tongue, a solution born from runners’ complaints that the tongue shifted sideways while they ran. He also added a triple-density midsole, one more layer than ASICS had been using. Born as a running shoe, it went on to become the brand’s biggest lifestyle success and one of the most collaborative silhouettes in history. This Alley Cats edition is a joint project between Sneaker Freaker and the Japanese store atmos.
The silhouette is instantly recognizable by its split tongue, which also opens up the instep and makes the shoe easier to put on. The upper combines panels made from different materials and textures, a canvas that has made the model a favorite among collaborators such as Colette, Beams, atmos, and Patta. The Alley Cats edition takes advantage of this paneling to showcase its own mix of materials and finishes.

We’ll provide the return label via WhatsApp (SEUR or UPS in mainland Spain; UPS for all other destinations). Its cost is the standard rate for your area, for example €6.95 in mainland Spain. The item must be unused and have the Next Step Verified tag intact.
