The adizero Adios Pro family is adidas’s flagship for long-distance racing: the shoe used to run marathons at record pace. Its fourth generation combines Lightstrike Pro foam with carbon EnergyRods, a system that returns energy with every stride. Y-3, the label Yohji Yamamoto founded with adidas in 2002, takes it as it is and applies its utility language in black and off-white.
The upper is an almost weightless technical mesh, with very few layers to avoid adding grams, while the midsole has considerable height and a pronounced rocker that drives the foot forward.
