The Superstar appeared in 1969 and reached the general public in 1970 as the first low-top basketball shoe with a full-leather upper and a rubber shell toe. That feature was created to protect the foot from impacts under the hoop, but it ended up becoming adidas's most recognizable visual signature. The Superstar II revives that construction half a century later, and this colorway is the exact reverse of the classic white version with black stripes.
The structure remains unchanged: ribbed shell toe, perforated 3-Stripes on the side, and a heel tab featuring the brand marking. Here, black leather covers the entire shoe, while Core White is reserved for the stripes, rubber toe, and outsole. It is the same contrast as always, but inverted, giving it a much more urban and less sporty feel.
