Designed for the 1972 Munich Olympics, the SL 72 was the first adidas model to feature the Trefoil logo. Its initials sum up its purpose: «SL» for Super Light and «72» for the year. The 1972 construction remains: nylon on the upper to reduce weight, suede reinforcements on the toe, heel and eyelets, and a serrated rubber sole for grip. Here, the white base runs across the shoe, while terracotta Warm Clay accents the suede panels and 3 Stripes, creating a distinctly earthy seventies contrast.
