The München appeared in 1976 as part of adidas's City Series, the collection that named each model after a city. It was born as an indoor training shoe and took its name from the Bavarian capital, home of Bayern and Oktoberfest. Its premium suede turned it into a cult object for the British Casual subculture of the 1980s, until adidas stopped producing it in the middle of that decade. Since then, it has returned several times, always remaining faithful to the original.
A clean suede toe box, a textile rear panel, and a fairly thick midsole: this combination sets it apart from the rest of the City Series. In this version, Preloved Blue suede—a muted, dusty blue—is paired with Off White on the midsole and panels, with the Three Stripes and branding in Silver Metallic.
