The Japan silhouette was born as adidas’s official training model for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Brain Dead, a Los Angeles streetwear brand that began working with adidas that same year, reinterpreted the archive with flame overlays as part of a broader collection that included a capsule with professional wrestler Brody King. This Black/White version strips the design down to its most graphic and direct foundation.
The Hi silhouette retains the low-profile, sporty shape of the original Japan, with a high-top cut and simple construction designed for track training.
