The original Forum debuted in 1984 and was born from an unusual process: French designer Jacques Chassaing began working on it in 1983 by asking professional players directly what they wanted from a basketball sneaker. That led to the famous X-shaped cross-strap system and a silhouette that eventually moved from the court to skateboarding and streetwear. The Forum 2000 is its contemporary reinterpretation, with inflated proportions.
Everything is amplified here: the shape is wider, the 3-Stripes are oversized, the tongue is padded and raised, and the laces are thick. The construction combines suede, leather, and mesh to reinforce that turn-of-the-millennium feel. The colorway uses an Off White base with Pink Fusion and Orange Tint blocks, two orangey pinks that add a touch of color without overwhelming the overall look.
