The Forum was created in 1984 with a very clear goal: to be the basketball shoe for the Los Angeles Olympics. French designer Jacques Chassaing began the project in 1983 by asking professional players directly what they needed from a basketball shoe, which led to the famous crossed ankle system. Michael Jordan wore the Forum Hi during that year's U.S. team selection trials. The CL version revives that heritage in its most refined form.
The CL version retains the essential elements —3-Stripes, a low-cut shape, and a basketball outsole— while removing everything else. This colorway takes that idea to the extreme: two different whites, Core White and Cloud White, layered across the leather, with grey appearing only in select details. The result is a shoe that reveals itself only up close.
