The Forum was designed by Jacques Chassaing and launched in 1984 as a high-performance basketball shoe. adidas wanted a model for the Los Angeles Olympic tournament and named it after the venue where the games were held. After spending hours with coaches and players, Chassaing identified the ankle as the weak point and, inspired by the elastic bands used by physiotherapists, created the Criss-Cross Ankle System. It was also the brand’s first model available in low, mid and high versions.
The CL version reinterprets the low-cut design for everyday wear while retaining the features that make the Forum recognizable: the leather construction, perforations on the side panel, the three stripes and the shield. This colorway uses Cloud White as its dominant base, with Cream White adding warmth to the sole and details, while Purple Burst appears as the only vivid accent.
