The Campus was born in the seventies under the name Tournament and did not adopt its definitive name until the eighties, when it established itself as a basketball sneaker. Its durable suede, reinforced toe box, and rubber sole first made it a performance model and, shortly afterward, an urban uniform: hip-hop figures such as the Beastie Boys were the ones who took it off the hardwood and put it on the streets. The Campus 00s carries that DNA forward and reinterprets it through another community that also embraced it—the early-2000s skate scene.
