adidas 4D technology was born in 2017 through a collaboration between the Futurecraft innovation lab and Carbon, the Silicon Valley company specializing in 3D printing. Thanks to Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis (DLS), adidas combined seventeen years of athlete data with hundreds of thousands of lattice structure variations to create a midsole capable of absorbing pressure evenly and returning energy with every stride.
