The Adizero Evo SL was born from an unusual idea in the industry: to democratize Lightstrike Pro foam, the high-energy-return compound adidas reserved for its plated racing shoes, and offer it in a flexible, versatile package. It shares that foam and the rocker geometry with the Adizero Pro Evo 1, while its aesthetic is inspired by an adidas track shoe from the 2000s, featuring a zipper running along the tongue.
Doing away with the carbon EnergyRods was the most important engineering decision of the project. The Evo SL removes them except for a small reinforcement in the midfoot that provides torsional rigidity, allowing the midsole to compress and deform naturally and the foot to function as biomechanically designed, without being forced into a lever-like motion. This colorway combines two sands with different temperatures: cooler, lighter Alumina alongside warm, earthy Warm Sandstone.
